Employment Pass (EP): This work permit is issued to company owners or employees who will work in Singapore. For an immigrant to be granted an Employment Pass, he or she must have at least a college degree from a recognized university and his or her salary must be more than SG$2500.00 each month. The validity of the Employment pass is 1 to 2 years, and may be renewed.
Entrepreneur Pass (EntrePass): The EntrePass is granted to foreign business people who like to set up a business in Singapore, but who may not be eligible for an EP because they do not have an academic degree. This work permit is renewable for as long as the business is still viable. It is valid from 1 to two years.
S Pass: As long as a mid-level immigrant employee's employer meets the eligibility quota sought for by the Singapore government, the professional can be issued an S Pass. The employee should have at the minimum a technical diploma and has a fixed monthly salary of SG$1800.00. With a validity period of 1 to 2 years, the S Pass is renewable as long as the individual still works with his or her employer.
Miscellaneous Work Pass: This work permit is granted to foreign nationals who are on short-term work assignments in Singapore. Examples of these momentary assignments are workshops, seminars, and/or conferences.
